Brandy is an African American woman who resides in Phoenix, AZ. She holds a BS in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and is currently a doctoral candidate for the Community Counseling & Traumatology Doctor of Education program at Liberty University. Brandy currently is a licensed associate counselor.
Brandy’s focus is to help clients develop deeper self-awareness and connection to clients’ emotional needs. Brandy works with a myriad of individuals in which she works collaboratively to empower clients on their path to healing. Brandy specializes in brief-solution focused, and cognitive behavioral modalities which focuses on goal-oriented and solution construction along with challenging maladaptive thinking patterns that prevent clients from reaching their ideal selves. Brandy’s purpose is to help build confidence and empowerment in client’s goals and future and does that by challenging negative thoughts that impact pursuing wellness initiatives. Brandy also has specific interests in working with military sexual assault and trauma survivors and has experience working with trauma-focused CBT models. Brandy is an active-duty Air Force member with has 8 years of honorable service and counting and loves to work with veterans and first responders alike.
Aside from advocating for client’s mental health and wellbeing, Brandy has several hobbies which include physical exercise and interior design and volunteering on various diversity and inclusion intiatives. In her free time, Brandy enjoys internationally traveling with her wife and twin daughters to different parts of the world creating memories as a family.
