
Jordan Downing
Masters Counseling Intern
Jordan Downing a Master's level counseling TRSAZ intern. She is in the final stages of obtaining a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. She has a background of over seventeen years of behavioral health experience. From working with patients in a hospital setting to supervising a team of case managers implementing services and supports for adults living with serious mental illness. She currently is working with the state of Arizona and assists children and adults obtain long term care services and connects adults and families with community support.
Jordan is known for being goal oriented, focused, and able to find creative solutions for complex issues. She provides trauma informed solution focused therapy through evidence-based practices to assist adults in identifying goals and achieve emotional healing.
Jordan is a facilitator in the women's trauma group. This is a 12 week group for adult women who are looking for a safe place to deal with trauma, establish healthy relationships, increase hope and begin (or continue) their healing journey. This group will allow clients a safe place to explore their feelings, get support from others, and move on from difficult experiences.
In her own words:
I like to work with adults who have experienced trauma. The areas that I am currently interested in working with include trauma survivors, adults living with serious mental illness (depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder), victims of abuse/ domestic violence, adults living with ADHD/ADD or autism, and grief counseling and support.
